    Hi
I'm heading to Barcelona in January for a few days. I'm looking for some accommodation advice. I'm looking for a hotel or a B&B that is central and of high quality. Have you stayed somewhere you'd recommend?

    Have you considered an apartment?

I was thinking the same as you but found hotel packages too expensive thru the Dublin travel agents - maybe cheaper if you booked online.

Went for a week last July, stayed in a beautiful high quality apartment approx 10 minutes walk from the Ramblas. Run by a Spanish company - www.friendlyrentals.com

A couple of friends have since used them as well and were impressed. Have a look at their site - the quality is evident from the pictures. Highly recommended.

I intend to go again in March. Hope this helps.

Just back from Barcelona. I cannot recommend this place enough - The Apsis Atrium Palace. Very classy joint. €99 a night for a double room (2 people). It is just off the lively Las Ramblas area. Whisper quiet at night. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel. We availed of the birthday deal. Bottle of cava left in the room for us. The rooms are fab. Bath robes and slippers as well!! Nice touches all round. We stayed in the Back Bay Hilton this time last year too. I would easily put it on a par with that. Terrific place and great value.

It gets favourable write-ups on TripAdvisor.

    Try this link
    http://www.touristapartments.com/apartments?requestType=search&searchSource=initial_criteria&lang=ENG&country=2&destID=%212@100%7E0%3E&location=Any&type=Any&custType=Any&minprice=Any&maxprice=Any&beds=Any&sleeps=Any&start=&end=&distance=Any&sort=D&B1=Search+Apartments&resultPage=8&thumbs=Y

Were staying in one of the appartments in January. Were there last year as well and what we stayed in was very high quality. All mod cons. towels bed linen etc and very reasonably priced if there is a group.

I'm going in January for 3 days too.

Haven't decided where to stay yet, think I might go for last-minute thing...
I doubt you can book into the apartments for just 3 nights?

This http://www.hotel-atriumpalace.com/ place looks really good. Bit pricey though considering the rock-bottom prices you can get for some places!

    Worth it?

Think I may have found a nice hotel... Opened in October 2005! Advance Hotel Barcelona
If search can get double room for about 100euro a night. 4stars
    And check out rooms: http://www.ratestogo.com/Common/ImageGallery/HotelImage.aspx?imgid=238293
    found their website... http://barcelona.hotelsspainonline.com/advance/
Prices go up lots after xmas, but some other websites still have the special price. think it might be time to book!

    See my post above chump.

I would have no hesitations about booking it. We booked earlier this summer for €99 a night (stayed just this weekend gone).

Before I came across Apsis Atrium Palace I was looking at www.h10.es. More specifically, Catalunya Plaza. Not much cheaper but it gets favourable reviews. I use TripAdvisor and www.HotelClub.net for research/reviews.

It says onthe website about the minimum time you can book. Most of them allow you to stay for 3 nights.
