Specialized Hardrock is the usual answer to this one. Check McConveys in Belfast for prices. Cycleways on Parnell St. will usually match them.

check out halfords for GT Aggressors as well

some halfords mechanics are muppets but someone I know got a lovely GT for a good price there recently.

look at trek 4500/6500 as well - there's a shop on the longmile road (eurocycles or something like that).

if you want to push the boat out a bit there are some great deals here (though not strictly Ireland!):

Lol - you do work for them!
Check out second hand deals on www.mtbireland.com - go to the forumn and to the "buy and sell" section. You will get a good deal for sure.

my mate does and i dont take kindly to the abuse he gets as he would know alot more about bikes than 98% of people here and the lads in coolock have a fantastic background in all types of cycling from road racing to dh to xc to freeride.

98% of the people on boards are probably not interested in MTBing at all! :)
