i recently joined this site, started on vc, and then moved to ultimate bet.

just wondering wat are peoples opinions on playing £ tables or $ tables, for instance £1/£2 or $2/$4, about the same money nearly.

and when i went into a £ table it had something about currency rates, any differnece in playing either(more profit cashing out £ at a table than $)
    thx

Playing the euro and sterling games on betfair is a rip off. If you play the dollar games, the max rake is $3. on the euro games, the max is €3 . and its £3 on the sterling games. £3 is more than $5 which is the highest rake on the internet(i think). These games should be avoided.

If you are playing cash tables you are much better off playing in dollars. For example, if you are playing £5-£10 NLH, the rake is capped per pot at £3, but if you are playing $10-$20 NLH, which is pretty much the same stakes, the rake is capped at $3, which is essentially half of what it is on the sterling tables. For sit and goes I don't think there is any difference, and the sterling ones tend to fill faster.

I had the distinctly unpleasurable experience of checking out VirginPoker's new site on the Boss Media powered International Poker Network this week. The interface make Partypoker look like the Mona Lisa but you can play in Turkish Lira among others, which might be fun if you don't know the exchange rate, unfortunetly it's the new Turkish Lira that was brought in this year which knocks off 6 digits, shame cause tilting with the old lira which is still legal would be a fun challenge as 10.00 TRL = 0.00000739098 USD :)
