NTL MMDS and connecting dvd-recorder

Sorry if the answer is obvious, but ...
have just got NTL MMDS service in Dublin, and have also just got new DVD-recorder (Panasonic DMR-ES10 DVD-recorder Black Time Slip) and am finding it impossible to record programmes. All stations on NTL appear on TV fine. Have followed instructions on leaflet, using scart connections etc, but no luck. The recorder works fine as a player on my television, and have supposedly tuned in, but can't get the recorder to pick up any of the stations ...
Would be v grateful for any help,
    thanks a lot.

connect the recorder to one of the SCARTS on the NTL box, connect the other SCART on the NTL box to the TV.

the NTL signal will come through on one of the EXT channels on the DVD recorder - but note, you will have to watch whatever you are recording, you can't watch one channel and record another.

When you play a DVD it will override the NTL signal on whatever EXT channel on the TV you are using.
