    I'd like to try out Quakeworld sometime,

    Can it be downloaded?...or do I have to buy quake?..

    And where are the servers?.

    Irish server is games5.iol.ie , think it may be in need of a reboot though. Use ASE to find servers, join #qw.ie on quakenet to find opponents.

    Actually, I've been playing single-player Quake again over the past few days (since fobia posted the equake link)... I'm actually enjoying it way more than Quake4... the whole pace and level design is so nice (hey look! they used to build maps along the Y-axis aswell!)
    Maybe its the nostalgia talking, but this game still kicks ass. :)
