I had just withdrawn from Absolute, and was thinking of giving UB a go. Withdrawal completed, I go to log in to Neteller on the off chance the money had arrived, and I'm faced with the above screen.

I ring Neteller and get some Canadian guy on the phone so I ask him "What's all that aboot eh?" and he says I tried logging in from Spain. When your Neteller account is logged into from 2 different countries they freeze it. It turns out that I logged into my account from work which is Eircom and somehow that shows up as coming from Spain.

Panic over and my fears of losing half my bankroll are no more. Fair play to Neteller, top quality Customer Service.

Fookin' eircom. Imagine my horror when I started playing full time when I found out my DSL connection gets dropped every half hour between 10 and 4 every day Monday to Friday, and there is no other ISP in my area. Eircom are a truly pathetic company. Neteller are the greatest.

They have the best customer service bar none, and all their security checks are good, it certainly gives me great confidence that my money is safe with them...

If you have Eircom DSL then UTV and BT should be available in that area too.

    That is weird.
I thought I had dsl connection problems. Turned out the dhcp lease time for my ip address (on the wireless router) was very short. Reset it to 99 days and all fine!

Indeed - took me ages to open an account (photo doc, util bill etc) but this only added to confidence....inb Ronan's words "fair play" Neteller...

Same thing happened to me. I think it was just that some of my home traffic got routed through Spain for some reason.

Another vote here for Neteller being the greatest. :)

Ripe could have reassigned ip blocks from a Spanish Isp.

My friend who lives in the same area has the same problem and switched to BT. It made no difference. Eircom still "maintain" the network and routers which aren't able to handle the traffic at peak times. I want to switch to either Irish Broadband or Smart Telecom but can't.

What about satellite broadband from Eircom?

Yeah that and the fact that I should be able to get just as good a service for a quarter of the price elsewhere.
