I don't want to be one of the many people that will queue for hours at say Ticketmaster in Stephen's Green SC this Friday for Robbie Williams only to be told they're sold out after 5 minutes. Where would I have the best chance at getting tickets? Lesser known selling agents?

go down to the sound cellar and see if they're selling tickets for it, if so you can put a fiver deposit on a ticket.

if you're willing to take a few hours off work, you could try somewhere listed here http://www.ticketmaster.ie/etc/

the website will probably be in meltdown friday morning...

Road Records is always a great place to get tickets for gigs that have 'sold out'.

Don't know if they'd bother getting Robbie Williams tickets though, that's not really their customer base.

Ok.. here's a tip (I havent tried) but heard it in relation to something else.
Was listening to a programme about Customer Care departments and how people are annoyed with being "on-hold" and unable to get through. (in the UK).
Some guy phoned the programme and told anyone who has trouble in getting connected to try using a payphone... he says he always gets through this way.
    Why?
It seems payphones are unlike house landlines when it comes to how they operate in the telephone exchanges, and have more of a "direct" route (ok, ?I dont know the technicalities) but this is down to the fact payphones were used to reports accidents etc so were given more of a "priority"... (before mobiles phones came in).
So... if the same applies here, you should have a better chance phoning ticketmaster using a payphone than yor mobile or landlines.
Its untested, but might be worthwhile sending a mate down to the local payphone if you really really really want to get tickets.

Hope it works for someone... if so, let us know ;)

Queueing is a pain in the face, safest place is always the net. If you can't get through on ticketmaster.ie,try pages like www.eventim.de who often provide an international link.

I am not a big fan of having to join anyones fan club just to make sure I'll get tickets, never was.

Tickets are 65 and 75 EURO each +fees.
    Anybody know which is which?
I assume 65 is standing and 75 is seating but I'd guess there's different prices for the different parts of the stands?
