Just wondering on when people put their Christmas Tree / Decorations up.
If it's a young family, it's probably going to be early. I think we'd have it up by the 14th at least when younger.
For me, I probably won't bother til the last week... I think last year I didnt put them up until I came home from work on Christmas eve!
Already had my desk in work sabotaged with mini-tree and tinsle, musical lights (sound off until 5.30).
It nice to have them up when off work... getting sozzled, and looking across to see a blur off lights in the corner of the sitting room as Charlie celebrates his golden ticket..

    Merry Christmas everyone :v:

I am sooooooo excited about Christmas. I will be hyper hyper hyper for the next 3 weeks, then I will be fat, broke and depressed for the following 3 weeks :D

I love Christmas, I have a 10 year old sister so santa still comes to our house.
I remember when I was a kid I couldn't sleep at all on xmas eve, and I would be trying to wake my folks, and my brother and sisters up from about 5 am to see if it was the right time to go down and see if santa had been yet.
Last Christmas was no different. I was awake from about 6 and (I used to share a room with my 2 sisters) I pinched my little sister to wake her up, told her I had heard the reindeer on the roof, so santa had definately been, and sent her in to wake up my parents.
Santa brough me a laptop last Xmas, I was near tears with the shock and delight. (was my last year of college and I wouldn't have coped without one, so santa got it dead right with that one)
I have probabaly made a billion spelling mistakes just now because I am typing so fast with excitement.

ONLY 19 SHOPPING DAYS TO CHRISTMAS
    Ho Ho Ho!!!!

It will probaly be the last week before Christmas for us.
    Normally always is.
    I love Christmas.

I was driving through Armagh on Sat three weeks ago, & one house already had it's tree up, the big Plastic santas out in the garden, lights up around the house & everything.
I thought that was a bit mad!!!!

8th of December is usually the "do everything day" isn't it... but I suppose its a bit much to expect someone to hop on a train, come all the way up to Dublin, do the bit of shoppin, hop on a train home... and then put up the tree! First Sunday in Dec sounds good though!

Sillysausage... when do you think Crimbo will no longer be the same Crimbo for you (if ever)? :)

The weekend after the eighth, always. Even if the eighth falls on a Monday, decorations get put up the following weekend. I think putting it up too early spoils the spirit, cos you end up feeling jaded with the whole season. No Christmas songs for me till the eighth either, even though it's hard enough to avoid them when I'm shopping. I'm fairly sure it's 20 days till christmas, at least by my watch.

Bah Humbug!! Don't believe in Christmas!
    Usually around the 18th/19th.
It's a bit ridiculous having them up at this stage.

well I dont have my own place so i havnt been able to put up my tree for the last 3 years...my roomate puts hers up mid-dec though.
I have my one at work on my desk though...its a tiny one but it lights up and has mini ornaments on it, its cute.

When I have a family of my own I am going to start a tradition of decorating the xmas tree the last thursday of november....which is thanksgiving holiday in the states. Its perfect, ur family is there etc...

When I had my own place Id usually put it up the last weekend in Nov anyway. :)

Bah Humbug!! Don't believe in Christmas!
we get a real one so we leave it till the last week so its fresher and so it'll last till mid january untill we decide to take it down.
The place then feels empty then when its gone.
Hope they have that cutting service in bushy park this year.

    Shopmas Time,
    Spoiled brats moan and whine,
    Drunkards puking, pissing, and cryin,
No money in your pocket so you can't afford a tree,
It's time to recoil from the greed that we see!

    Happy Shopmas one and all!

Normally around the 23rd. When we were small my mum always used to have it up in time for my brother's birthday (the 19th), but never before that.
