Ok guys, the helix engine I'm using in amaroK to play mp3s seems to have the odd skip of mp3s depending on what I'm doing, even if i'm just scrolling on a website the song will start to break up. I'm assuming this is the helix engine itself and have seen screenies of amaroK using the GStreamer engine. The problem here is that I can't select the GStreamer engine in the amaroK menu, even though I have the packages installed. So any idea how I can get amaroK to see and then use the GStreamer engine instead of Helix?

    Cheers

If you compile it yourself, it uses gstreamer by default.
Unless you can find a package for your distribution that is linked with gstreamer, then you'll probably have to compile it.
