    My broadband connection keeps disconnecting approx every ten minutes. It is very frustrating. Can anyone givev me an idea of how to sort it out. I use a wireless router and it only started when i began using this. Please help. thanks.

    Are you sure its your internet connection or is the connection with the WAP. If it goes again try pinging the WAP to see if its that connection.

    when your connection goes.....

    start->run->cmd <enter>

    in the black box type:
    ping 192.168.1.1

    post the answer here.

    Or when it does go check the taskbar near the clock. There should be a connection status for your wireless. See if the network connection goes.

    Might be more helpful to post on the Broadband Board.

    Theres a couple of things here... What type of wireless router? And numerous othe questions... Did you get it from an ISP?

    Is it an idle time disconnect? Or are you doing stuff when it disconnects? Does the same thing happen when you connect by ethernet(if possible)? Sorry about all the questions but the more questions and answers -> the less you'll eventually have to do as we can rule things out quickly.

    Also after connecting -> ipconfig /all

    And specifically ur ip addr and the default gateway.

    It may not be the Ip address of your WAP. Do what Archytas said. When you are connected go to start, run, cmd and type ipconfig/all.

    IF its a intermittion connection check if it happens when connected using wire's only. If you still get the same problem check you filters if you are using them and make sure there is nothing other then a phone connected to you line.

    If you pinged 192.168.1.1 as stated before and got destination host unreachable as per your post it seems your losing connection to your wap/router and not the internet. There are a number of things that could be causing this: dodgy router, configuration on the router, something on your pc, etc. It also seems to be giving you a ip address of .15, which seems odd as it usually gives the next available ip address. Is there other stations on your network? Personally I think there may be something wrong with your pc as your getting "destination host unreachable" and not "request time out". Can you put/link another pc/laptop to test this?
