on Fri and entered the €25 comp. (5 rebuys 90mins tourney). I had a €50 voucher so I asked Mags if I could use the whole thing and get a top-up at the break. She duly obliged.

Anyway proceeded in folding every hand, while the nutters kept the merrion in business. I was also told on a couple of occasions that i "cant do well in rebuy tourneys playing like that". The one hand I did play was pocket aces. Despite my first real bet of any kind, two punters were more than willing to make me put the rest of my stack in. Cant remember what they had but I trebled up just before the break anyhow.

Got the top-up and sat down hoping for a little less pushing and a little more raising/calling. Luckily that's exactly what happened. Playing very consconservatively still, I watched as all the experts go tumbling out. Down to three tables and I was delighted with my play. Despite being so tight I was still getting plenty of action when I had the nuts.

Down to two tables and a below-average stack meant I would have to get going. Flopping trips and calling an all-in helped immensely and it was down to 10 players, 5 on each table.

I was determined now to let my stack carry me on to the final table but luck would have an unfortunate say on the matter. Under the gun, I was left with a mouth-watering predicament. Pocket aces again. There was two aggressive players to my left, so I decided to call just. As i expected the first lad looked me up for a while but he folded. Then the aggressor said "I'll go all-in" Folded around to me.

Lauching my chips in triumphantly to see pocket jacks, the birds were singing. No jack on the board but a straight ment I was going home. My third such occasion of a "OOOOhhhhhhh" on the river followed by Mags voice of "we'll resume for the final table in 10mins"
