I've ordered a new Imac G5 17" (my first mac! :) ) and want to upgrade the 512mb early on.

I've been looking at 1gb modules on here. It looks like '1Gb DDR2-533 PC2-4200 DIMM CAS4 - V-Data' is what I need and at €78 seems great value especially compared to Apples website but can someone confirm for me that it is the right one plus is the actual upgrade easy to do?

The upgrade is pretty easy. You have to open the back of the machine -screws are the lower side of the computer. In the manual that comes with it, it's explained...

However, once it's open, you put your RAM in, close it and you're flying :)

Cool thanks for that. So does that module look like the one I need or am I wrong on some aspect?

A total of 1.5gb should be more than enough for it right? (Will be doing load of Itunes/Imovie stuff but not much on the games front bar prob Civ IV when it's out).

komplett have a crucial memory selector to ensure you get the right ram, imo i woudlnt take any chances, upgraded to 1gb myself a while back, and its more than enough.

Cheers for that, very handy. Mind you for the price of the 512mb module from Komplett I could get the 1GB from shop4memory!
