    got a dell inspiron 6000 but when i try to copy a dvd, sonic copies it then
    PLEASE INSERT A BLANK OR REWRITABLE CD INTO THE _NECDVDRW9(D:)DRIVE so i put in a blank and it just rejects it . i tried +r,-r,+rw,-rw but same thing every time.any ideas?

    what kind of DVD are you trying to copy, if its copy-protected then you wont be able to copy it because of the protection, unless you used some not so legal software. if its not copy-protected then you probably need to use a larger disc, i.e. Dual layer 8.5gb rather than the standard 4.7gb discs

    Have you a DVD writer in the laptop?

    Get a copy of Nero, much better than sonic
    Also google for things like DvdShrink, DVDDecrypter, doom9.net
