I was going to buy something off them before but I think they only accept bank transfers so I didn't in the end. I think it was them anyway.

I bought a camera off them a few months ago. No problems at all. Paid with VISA and delivered by courier, can't remember which one.

They're fine. We bought from them about 4 times over the past year and a bit, and never had any problems. Delivery was generally within a week.

as everyone has already said.. theyre fine. First cc transaction they'll probably need you to fax ID & card copy to them but after that it's all plain sailing.

    Totally bummed!!!
Just ordered my camera from them, got confirmation, then I contacted them to send the identification and the bloody camera is out of stock so I have to wait for it.!!! AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

Should have gone to Gunns, but I saved about 300 quid at least so I suppose it balances out

Same happened me, it's a balls alright. I changed my order from the kit to body only and they shipped straight away. They say delivery is 7-10 days but it's probably more like 4-5.

Well, all the prices include VAT, so yes you do pay VAT, but you don't have to pay any additional duty of any sort when you receive it.

What's not obvious though is what rate you pay VAT at (and there's no mention of it on the invoice either which is odd), I assume it's the German rate of 16% or whatever it is these days, since they don't advertise different prices for different destinations. I would have thought that they would have a sufficient volume of business with Ireland to make them liable to charge VAT at the Irish rate, but maybe not.

    WOOHOO!!!
turns out they did have the camera, but have any of you used the trackin number they give you? I cant find what site to put the tracking number into, they say the courier is DZR. Maybe it's not a tracking number at all... I dunno

    can anyone shed some light?

You don't appear to be able to do anything with that number. Here is the rather confusing reply I got when I asked them via email what I could do with it ...
    Hello,

The package number is 974341055165, but unfortunately DHL does not offer
any tracking opportunities when the package leaves Germany.

    Best regards,

    your TECHNIKdirekt - Team
Still it arrived eventually, so I wasn't too bothered, but it's a bit puzzling regardless, especially as it didn't arrive via DHL anyway !

I was able to track mine on dpd.net
    Worth a shot anyway.

Not sure, there was a weekend in between, about 4 or 5 days in total I think.

Took about 3 or 4 days for me to deliver. Well worth it I must say, saves an awwwful lot of money from here. I ordered a new lens from them last week for Christmas which is €400 cheaper from them than it is here... ridiculous!

Canon 70-200 F4 L, costs €1,000 here and €600 from them. I decided to get it now because I've been taking a lot of sports stuff for my college paper and my lenses weren't cutting it. On top of that I've got a €100 off voucher that I got with my camera (350d) when I got it in September, which runs out at the end of December so took the plunge as that made an L lens even cheaper than the 75-300 USM IS.

How are you finding that lens? I'm considering getting the 70-200/2.8L or the 300/4L for sports. I got the same vouchers with my camera too, what did you do with them? It's all in German :)

I've not got it yet, only ordered a few days ago and they've not got it in stock... but naturally worth waiting with that kind of price disparency!

However a friend of mine has it, so that's why I opted for it. I borrowed it once and really really wanted to get it after that! It's really sharp, right the way down to F4. The only shortcoming really is that it wouldn't be bright enough for indoor stuff, but I really didn't have 3 times the budget to get the 2.8. From what I've heard though the 2.8 is an awesome lens if you have the money for it! I'd say opt for it over the 300/f4 for the extra stop and the zoom capability.

But if you're just going to be doing outdoor stuff, I'd say you'd be as happy with the 70-200f4.

And as far as I know you just send the vouchers off the same way, if you go to the website http://www.canonextrapromotion.com/ it gives you the procedures to follow as far as I remember.
