Dont think so. Its to do with it being a 16:9 screen

LCD widescreens are 1366 x 768

yeah a decent normal 17" res is 1280 x 1024 so for widescreen the 1440 x 900 seems pretty much ok.

Have one of the older targa/lidl laptops and it's been great, good for games dvd ripping encoding etc. only letdown is battery, get an hour or an hour and a half maybe. However that was a single battery machine, this one comes with a spare
