Browser/Internet Trouble

    I have a very weird problem with browsers seemingly disconnecting from the internet after a period of inactivity. The best way I can explain this is by example so;

    I reboot my computer. Everything works fine, Firefox shows websites, MSN works etc. Then, for example, I quit the browser and play some games on the internet for a while. When I finish playing and open Firefox it won't show websites - a box comes up saying that it could not Look up website.com I know i'm still on the internet because I can go back into my game and play, messenger - if left on - will still work and the laptop can still see websites over the wireless network but the browser just doesn't like working.

    I have an Eircom connection (2Mb/128k) with the Netopia wireless router and run ZoneAlarm firewall by itself - could these be the problem or what? I really don't have a clue how or why this happens. :(

    Ok I just did that. Going to go get something to eat and I'll comeback in a while and see if it works/is still ****ed. Thanks.

    Might be complete arse, but in your network settings, put in the DNS addresses of your provider, or any provider for that matter.

    For me, it seems to make a slight difference in resolving domain names.

    I had a trojan virus on my work laptop recently and this was how it first started acting up.
