Yeah I know probably the wrong place ... mods feel free to move it i have put it up in apple forum too ...

My car + laptop was stolen a few hours ago .. so if anyone sees an ibook going *too* cheap in buy and sell or being flogged outta the below car maybe let me know via PM.

    Car was Stolen from drimnagh area .. BMW 316I 92 -G - 3515

    Its a 12' Ibook G4 1.2 + bag + 2.5 usb mobile disc

about 11 months old so has a few normal wear and tear scratches ..

TBH dont give a crap about the car right now ... the laptop ... well... there is alot of personal and work related stuff on it .. and while i wish its battery was crap, it was fully charged and has about 6 hrs left .. I feel like I'm on big brother. :( although probably just being paranoid

    Thanks all in advance...

check the herald sale section too.
go into the shops that sell ibooks in dublin and give them a page with as much details about it as possibl ie serial number from box etc.
often knacks come in asking stupid questions. this used to happen in a placee i worked. we'd play dumb 'sorry i dont know what your talking about' or all the chargers are dufferent for everything, youd have to bring it in so i could check.........yadayadayada'

we found a couple in 2 years by just keeping our eyes open.

i live in drimagh too .so if i hear anything ill give you a PM ..i was nearly in the same boat myself the other day when two scumbags tried to drag my wife out of our car in pamerstown at 5 in the evening in the car park of the shopping center ..a girl seen what was happening and ran into the bookies and told the guys in there what was happening outside , so when they ran out the two toe-rags ran off ..she was in bits with the fright she got only she had put up a fight

Sorry to hear that, just a good reminder to us all, I will now never leave mine in the car, also I must put a stronger password on the OS, also I will be encrypting my sensitive files,
    Hope you get it back...

    Thanks for all your support,

Still no news on the car or laptop and trying to get serial number for laptop is being a pain (my Mac ID and laptop dont match somwhere along the line so trying to chase them on delivery notes) but i'v put the word out to a few shops.

Dub sorry to hear about your wife .. just shows the type of scum in society these days ... good to hear she got outta it OK - there are still a few humans in this world.. much appriciated if ya hear anything.

And yup in future defineltly be using encryption...just never saw this coming.
