New Laptop Needed Tomorrow

My sister in law needs to get a laptop for work on Monday and as such needs something she can buy tomorrow. She needs something she can get online with and use MSOffice and that is pretty much it.

She was going to buy a laptop in Tesco today for €779 which was a 1.4Ghz Celeron M, 256MB Ram, 14.1" TFT, 40GB Harddrive and I have spotted a similar spec machine on Dell.ie for €549 which is quite a difference. Anyone know a retail outlet where she can buy a similar spec laptop tomorrow cheaper than €779?

She is based in the Midlands but is happy to drive to either Galway or Dublin to buy this.....

    512mb is a must.
If your sister can spare a few days, go with the dell - otherwise retail outlet wise - microaid.ie have a shop in swords and i suppose you can try dodgeworld (aka pc world )

Harvey Norman in Dundalk have a Toshiba (I think it's the L20-153 - being sold by Tesco in the UK for £589.99 which, at current rates converts to €873). They're selling it for €797.

Specs are here but the basics are as follows:

    Celeron M360 1.4Ghz
    512 DDR2 RAM.
    40GB S.M.A.R.T Hard Drive.
    DVD-Supermulti Optical Drive.
    802.11g WiFi
    3 X USB2.0 ports
    15" XGA TFT Screen

    Thanks guys.

Price is the big thing here - a 256MB laptop will be fine for browsing and using word - which is pretty much all she will be doing.

Dundalk is too far for her to drive - PCWorld have a laptop on their website for €699 which she may end up going for.
