Anyone know of anywhere between Dublin and Drogheda where an elderly-type guy (not mature, just old) can just turn up with his axe and jack-in? Maybe such an Utopian haven doesn't even exist - if it doesn't, it should. Anything bluesy/jazzy would do.

JJ Smyths on Aungier Street hold an open blues jam the first Tuesday of every month, as you described, turn up and jack-in :D

It's a bit out of yer way but it's the only one I know of. Keep an eye out here for updates on it.

I'll be keen to drop by one of these (Tuesday) nights when I have a sick day on the Wednesday - not that I actually plan my sick days or anything, but sometimes holidays just aren't enough ...

    Thanks for the info.
