Just wondering since I got stung for €175 per ticket on Ebay for Jack Johnson in Vicar St (which has been now moved to the point) what is the most anyone here has spent on a ticket and how high would you go to see someone that badly?

Never went (and never would go) above cost price... have always got tickets for every act I wanted to see :)
If I know it's going to be a sell out, I just make sure I know of advance sales (thro fans clubs etc..), or be on the net once they go on sale.

    Man that's so shít.

The most I've paid for tickets is €50 to various Point gigs.

I've never landed myself in a situation where I had to pay (substantially) above face value.

    €120 for a U2 ticket last summer.
I would have paid up to 200.

Very foolish of me for spending so much money on it, but there is no way I would have missed that gig. It was worth every cent!

well, i guess that makes me feel a little better:0)

I really didn't mind spending that much to see him in Vicar Street but now that it has been switched I'm just not as excited!

Including transport to the gig, €250 for a 3 day festival. Worth every cent.

For an individual gig, €65 (+ ticketmaster rape fee) to see Iron Maiden.

I've spent a lot on festivals but that's for many bands and the experience. Most expensive gig I've been to was Neil Young at Vicar St. (about €100 a ticket) but I got mine for free. I also went to see Einstuerzende Neubauten twice in one week in Berlin which cost me a lot including airfare and accommadation. I went to see their 25th Anniversary tour too, I went to Berlin, Vienna and Paris. Worth all the money.

    That sucks.
I've never paid above face-value I don't think. I would for the Wainwrights at Other Voices though. I don't even wanna think about how much I'd be willing to pay. :(

Highest ever, I believe, was around 80 Euro for Duran Duran's hometown gig in Birmingham in May 05, plus Hotel and flight of course.

As you can see on www.concert-reviews.net, going to gigs is a passion of mine but I have to say that 80 quit has to be the highest I would be willing to pay for a ticket.

Only exception would be (perhaps) if KISS would come over to Europe again.

    But that is unlikely anyway.

Aside from Oxegen, I paid €75 to see Paul McCartney at the RDS a few years ago and it was worth every cent

same as basquille's post above,i always have bought from official stockists except once for Velvet Revolver, which i bought off boards..
it ended up being a seated ticket, but he gave it to me for very cheap!(10 euro of the official price, 5 euro cheaper than standing)

Most I spent on an individual gig was €160 for David Bowie (had to join the fan club to get the last of the tickets). In that year I spent about €1500 on 7 gigs - nice.

Wouldn't change a thing mind you, got to see Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Iron Maiden, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, Don McLean, Lynrd Skynrd, Deep Purple and Fleetwood Mac.
