poker result predetermined?

i just got knockout of a tournie online, but the strange thing was that the caption at the bottom of the screen told me what me final best hand was before any cards get dealt. does this mean that on any particluar website each player is given a certain amount of winning hands ?ie it predetermined before the cards are dealt who wins. what implications does this have to do with the randomness of the cards.

Depending on where you play, but some sites are rigged to even out winning hands, so the good players don't always win. :mad: :mad:

Handsfree, there is sometimes a slight time delay (circa .5 second) on PPP between the cards being 'dealt' (selected) and being displayed on the board. Often you can see the message of the type 'Player X win Y Chips with whatever' as the cards are being dealt, especially on all-ins where 5 board cards are being dealt at once.
I put this down to general problems with my PC being old, and delays caused by Internet traffic. I wouldnt read anything dubious into it.
