    Hi,

I've got a few blacktie things on this year so decided to buy a tux last night. A commerband(think thats what it's called) came with the Bow tie I bought...just wanted to know are they alright to wear or are they strictly for oul fellas or james bond movies?!? (which prob means I want to wear it!). I'm in my mid twenties if that makes a difference as to what age group usually wear them...

    Thanks!

I wouldn't bother with it tbh, it is more of and old guy type of thing. In saying that though, you still need to do something to make your waist tidy - nice belt etc etc etc.

    God that sounds bad.

I think they're really sexy, makes it look like a proper tux, not just a black suit and a bowtie! Really slick!

Its a comerbund, you'll need it as proper tuxedo trousers don't have belt loops.

if your pants have belt loops wear your best belt, if they dont:comerbund.

no cumerbund - they're up there with comic cuff links and suspenders. Sad.

If you want to look slick - take the time to learn how to tie a proper bow-tie. Clip-ons just don't cut it, and beside - at the end of the night, you'll look well slick with an untied bow tie around your neck.

    So to sum up:
    Cumberbunds - suck
Suspenders - suck (unless worn by ladies - but thats a different thing altogether)
    Novelty cuff links - suck

    Real bowties look the part.
