    Is it worth 1500 Euro?

Anyone give it a going over or can supply any reasons to buy something like this rather than spend half the money on a decent laptop.

In case you speak German here's the best review you'll get of it :)

    http://www.discountfan.de/gratis/download/pdf/Testbericht-Lidl-Notebook-TargaTraveller856WMT32-November2005.html

    Full specs :

    AMD Mobile Turion 64 MT-32 (1,8 GHz)
    1024 MB, PC2700
ATI Mobility Radeon X700 128Mb shared memory
    17" 1440 x 900
    Hard disk : Samsung HM100JC; 96Gb
    NEC-ND6650A Dual DVD Burner
Modem, Ethernet 10/100/1000, WLAN (802.11g), Bluetooth
    Windows XP Home SP2
Other : TV-OUT, Firewire, S/P-DIF, card reader (SD, MMC, MS Pro, XD), Expresscard slot
    3,44 Kg
    2 hours battery life

3.4 Kg (3.6 kilograms with extra battery + .6 Kg for the powersupply + a 17" screen means that this is a desktop replacement and NOT a portable computer (unless you want to use it to increase upper-body strength) :)

I can't say if it's worth the $$$ or not but it does look like a nice machine.

    LOL:D
Seems a bit pricecy and i'm not so sure about the quality. I would be weary in fairness

The Processor could be a bit faster for the price.
    ie a 2Ghz.

Also the resolution is a bit low for a 17inch.

I have a 15.4 inch and the res is 1600x1050

but this laptop is a 17inch and is only 1440x900.

But those are minor niggles really.
Overall I think it is pretty good value for money.

oh no, its a rebranded "Packard Bell"(aka Packard Bell from Hell)...with the NEC brand stuck on. The consortium that owns Packard Bell sometimes use the NEC badge.

It could get the best reviews in the world for all I care but if its not reliable
12months aftersyou buy it..."expert" reviews mean sod all.

To be honest - its not all about screen resolution. My laptop has a 15.4" Screen with a 1280x800 resoulution and its of far higher quality & definition than many of the higher res screens I've seen.
