    Ok have the following system at the moment:

    Excalibur Radeon 9800PRO
    Asus A7n8x Delus athlon XP motherboards
    Athlon XP 2800+ with sharkoon silent cooling fan
    1GB PC3200 memory
    SoundStorm™ / Dolby® Digital Audio
    160GB SATA disk

    Running BF2 ok and BF; Special Forces alright after spending 2 minutes waiting for load times.....was looking to upgrade the system and was wondering what suggestions people had? also in regards to what price range I am talking? need to save the coppers for Xmas!:D

    Has served me well....still plays BF2 no probs and Special forces but starting to wain now. Need to upgrade I think at this stage to get ready for CoD and the newer games coming out. Better off to keep ahead of the thrend so to speak.

    How much do you have to spend?
    There is only really 1 option for processor at the mo imho and thats the opteron if you can find them in stock.. Motherboard wise, Epox, Asus & DFI are the boards I recommend. Graphics card - very much depends on budget, the X800GTO2 is great value beause it can be modded to X850XT speeds.

    Opteron = Expensive

    Opteron /= Expensive. If you can find one at the same clock speed as an A64 at a similar price theyre a cracking deal.

    Opteron 144 socket 939 is the one to look out for. If you find it in stock anywhere, snap it up, its the best bang for buck out there at the moment.
