Well have you tried calling your credit card company?! I think they would have a better idea of why its being declined than we would!

I had the same problem with expansys yesterday, I ordered a phone and it was declined. Called the credit card company and it was declined because my card was on a security watch. Got it sorted and the order went through!!

    no it hasnt expired.

i have been busy buying online this week and have made several successful payments with amazon. so its working fine with other companies. i even used it in a shop this morning.

ill ring the credit card number and see.

Well if you are buying alot more than you would usually buy then the credit card company probably are refusing it for security reasons. Unusual activity on the card hints at it being stolen!

Is the delivery address you're using with expansys registered with your CC company ?

Ordered a Dell x51v off them for Euro 485, chose cheapest postage but they DHL'd it anyway :)

Of course Dell dropped their price a hundred euro the week after but what can you do :v:

I bought a few things off them. Always had delivery within a week.

When credit card is refused four things can be happening:
    1. Credit card has expired.
    2. Credit limit is too low for the amount being purchased (add funds to CC first)
    3. The company you're buying off are thick.

    For #3 reasons include:
    1. You entered "Co Dublin" in your billing address but "Dublin" appears as your official billing, they are therefore "different" in an automatic check.
    2. The company have some other problem with their rubbish credit checking methods.

there is an issue with amex cards where it tells them the epiry is invalid, e.g. expiry date of 03/07 is reading as 07/03. known problem but they cant seem to do anything about it

Ordered a 2GB MS pro duo off them. Sept 6th this year.

Still hasnt come. Repeat delays despite the original 13day estimate.

    Supposedly coming next week.

Will never purchase from them again.

i just ordered with a different credit card in the end. i have since made further purchases with my own with no hassle. as for expansys, im expecting my speakers today which is pretty good seen as i ordered them friday.

Expansys have now resheduled (again without any emails of apology) my delivery (yes, the one from way back September 6th) to February.

They have a habit of changing the due date about a day before their "online tracker" says its due to arrive.

To say that Im pissed off is an understatement. I've emailed them to say to change the order to another card. (Which they supposedly have in stock). If they can't do this Im going to consider legal action.

    have you tried phoning them?

a phone call is always harder to brush off than an email. my speakers arrived well packed and on time. so im happy but good to know they have an evil side too!

I did phone them after the 1st two delays - they were just as useless on the phone.

That said they have just replied to my latest email (asking them to just cancel the order and switch it for another item).

Whether that comes or not remains to be seen :/

How's this for a saying-absolutely-nothing-auto-generated-response which I received yesterday when enquiring about an item which has been '7-days' from shipping every day for the past 10 days:

    Dear Sir,

Please be advised, I have just checked the status of your order and we are still awaiting the stock. We do not have an exact date of arrival on this product, however rest assured we are chasing suppliers for the stock and it shouldn’t be too much longer.
We appreciate your patience with this and if there’s anything else we can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact me

We do apologize for any inconvenience that this delay has caused.

    Regards
    Expansys

To be fair to them, its an ipaq thumb keyb which is apparently hard to source, I just wish they hadn't advertised it as 3 days to ship.

That emails a lot better than anything I received - looks like they're learning.

In all fairness the item I wanted was rare-ish back when they advertised it but I could have got it 20 times from anywhere else by now with the delays.

I'll post when this arrives as the tracker now says its been shipped.

    Finally came.

I've ordered off expansys over the last few years. Usually no problem with them till my last order.

I got a budget smartphone off them for about €95 ex delivery. It turned up and the keypad wasn't working properly from the moment I got it. I asked them if there was any software or firmware upgrades to sort out the problem and was advised eventually to send it back. When I did they claimed it was user damage and there was NOTHING they could do. Also they wanted to know why I used the phone at all (I was hoping to avoid having to send it back and thought it was probably just software).

They claimed there was a crack in the phone (there wasn't when I sent it back to them) and that it was my fault. Funnily enough the alleged crack would have had nothing to do with the keypad anyway so I got suspicious and started checking out modaco forums and found some other people who had problems with the same phone. They also had been told the same thing as me (user damage the phone had a crack in it, probably the same phone for all of us!). I asked them for a photo of the crack in the phone and after fighting with them for a while they suddenly changed tone and sent me a replacement (which was all I wanted not even a refund!).

This is how they treated someone who has put a lot of money (thousands in fact) through them over the past few years. For the sake of not even €90 to them they just lost thousands in repeat business.

Avoid. They may have been ok in the past but with this sneaky attitude I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole for any expensive items. May be fine for dirt cheap stuff that they can't accuse you of breaking.
