I just got an IISONIC II3016PU DivX player. Looks pretty OK, plays everything, and also has a USB so you can plug in your camera, Ipod.....whatever.
It was only €45 on pixmania.

It worked out at €58 delivered. So €13 delivery on that item, had it within a week.

Yeah, its handy if you have a external USB drive.
But its great for connecting up an MP3 player just to listen to some music, or anyones camera without needing fiddly leads.
Though mostly I use it for just plugging in a USB pen drive with the latest episode of Lost I just downloaded!

Its meant to be a region 2 dvd player, but as far as I can see its region free. Most of my DVD's are from Asia (lived over there for a while) and it plays them all. I don't know what the chipset is in it, so not sure how easy it will be to find firmware upgrades, but I think its the MediaTek one thats in all those Lidl players.
One thing worth knowing though is that the IISONIC web site is no longer there, it was there last week, but its no there now. Probably just let the registration go out of date, but it may be that the company no longer exist.
However, its a great DVD player and worth the chance I think.

Japan is Region 2 also so any Region 2 European DVD player will play your Asian discs. Try a Region 1 American DVD if you want to see if it is Multi Region.

DON'T ORDER OFF PIXMANIA!! THEY SUCK! WARNING! I didn't got the wrong thing delivered took like 4 weeks to get my money back. You have to hold for 40 mins on the phone before talking to tech support and they don't email back. There are threads warning people off pixmania somewhere

Wasn't in Japan, they were from Indonesia, where it is region 3.

I'm gettin a bit sick of people starting threads and posting big warnings for online shops..........ok you've had a bad experience with them, but that doesn't mean that they are awful, I've had problems with some online retailers - but not very much, and although a warning note like above is valuable when considering buying from someone, it wouldn't usually represent the majority of experiences from people buying from these companies......

that's my opinion anyway, I've ordered off them a few times without any problems (their anti fraud stuff is annoying, but that's life) and don't know anyone personally that's had a problem with them.......but cheap ready to run DVD/DivX players are all over the place now....

I 2nd that. I have ordered off them a few times and no problems. Yup, those DivX players are all over the place now, its just the USB slot on the II3016PU made it the one for me. Most of the other's either have nothing or just a card reader.

it is a handy addition alright.......one of the lads here picked up one of the €380 Hard Drive recorders with DivX support, a nice piece of kit, but surely too expensive when you think the players are now this price......

might pick one of these up over the Christmas....

What's the compatability of the IISONIC II3016PU like as regards DVD+-R? It only lists DVD-RW on the site? Also can it play DivX from a DVD? Thinking of getting one of these!!

thx padraig, just ordered one and was looking around avforums for a multiregion hack, guess who I saw posting there ;) usb support is the major reason for buying this as I already bought the philips divx one, it's pretty good, but that can go upstairs now.

Plays DVD+RW fine for me, haven't tried DVD+R. Yes, it can play DivX from a DVD.

Hey padraig did you get any stuttering when playing from the usb port? I tried some south park and the divx of serenity and it stutters during heavy motion.
