hey folks, just wondering what the craic is with taking an unpoened bottle of wine on a plane? not to drink it - it's a present.
will it explode due to the pressure?
would it be safer in hand luggage?
or (well wrapped) in regular luggage?
i'm guessing it can be done because people bring back cases of the stuff from our less expensive eurpean neighbours, like france...

    thanks

It'll be as safe as houses as long as it doesn't break due to being knocked about.

it wont explode. just make sure its well wrapped :)
It depends on your luggage count if hand luggage would suit.

Sure, you can usually buy it in the duty free anyway.

No problems with that - I bought 4 back on a long haul flight in one of those cardboard carrier things and carried it on as hand luggage.

carry it with you, there's nothing worse than opening your luggage when you get home to find everything soaked in booze.

( actually there are probably lots of things "worse" , but you know what i mean)

Get bag-in-box wine and pop it in your baggage - I brought home 12 litres from Paris the week before last this way. Only problem is it weights a ton (well not quite a ton..)
