I've had good experiences with FSC laptops, and heard great things about their After Sales. A lot of people like Acer (I have no experience of them..)
Try microaid.ie? There's bound to be better prices around but cannae think of anywhere at the moment..

    I wouldnt touch HP personally.
Only brands I'd consider would be Fujitsu Siemens, Toshiba & Sony. You cant put a price on reliability.

hp tech support for their own products is sub standard

i have a hp pavilion 6065A and the dvd-rw wouldnt burn cds, it would burn dvds and i rang the hp tech support and guess what???

they only support xp home. how useless is that? i had dual boot with xp pro and gentoo linux on mine when i rang them and before they would "support" me i had to reinstall xp home on the laptop.

they couldnt take it back with xp pro on it even tho all they had to do was change the dvd drive!

had to back up all my files and then reinstall xp home.

if ur buying a laptop make sure that they will support xp pro cos in all fairness nobody uses xp home

    my 2cents
