Thinking of a new laptop, advice please

    Sorry if you're sick of answering these threads (and if you are, move along theres nothing to see here...;) )

    I'm looking for something relatively portable, but that can double as a portable DVD player (so don't really want smaller than a 12" screen)

    It will mainly be used for net surfing, watching movies and working with my iPod. Gaming isn't a priority, but I wouldn't mind the option.

    DVD-RW would be preferred.

    Budget c €1500

    Ideas?

    I've considered going for an iBook or PowerBook, how easy/difficult would it be to add an Apple to an existing Windows network?

    I like the look of this as posted in another thread. I've got a 2 year old Acer laptop already, its just a tad unwieldy. The Acer I've linked to is 1.5kg (mine is 2.61kg)

    Lidl Have a great laptop offer next week. Its a top of the range 17" widescreen with 3 year warranty and great graphics as well and the price is 1500 euro.
