Physical memory??

    when i press the iNFO button on my laptop remote control it gives all the info about the machine, but im not too sure on this . maybe somebody can clarify..

    it says;

    Total memory: 1.00Gb (0.99GB system + 8mb video)
    Total physical memory : 1,024.00 mb
    Availabile physical memory : 604.11 mb


    Is this wasted memeory ? how can i utilise all the 1024mb , becuase 604mb is almost half of what i have .

    Or is this normal.

    Its not wasted, it means you are using 420mb and have 604 available for other apps.

    Run more (Microsoft) applications </sarc>

    Seriously, 604.11 is the memory "available" (i.e. Free) for use by other app's.

    is it just me or does he seem to be using an aweful lot of memory. i would expect windows only to take up around 200k to 250k (as shown in task manager) rather than the 400k PlayaFlow is using. unless, that is, the reading was taken while performing an large action (playing game, encoding video ect.)
