Over 700MB cds

    Can these be bought??

    I have a 720MB file which i need to put on a cd as no dvd burner but i can't find anywhere that sells them

    Can someone help me

    yes you can get 800mb (90 minutes) CD's but where i don't know

    You could try overburning. But not all drives may read it correctly.

    Split it.... Rar it into two seperate Files.

    Yeah it's possible to get 800mb 90min cds, Argos or PC World probably have them. ALDI and LIDL don't as far as I know.

    Check whether your optical drive is compatible with CD media over 700MB.
    I'd suggest zip or rar it to span over 2 disks,as Lump suggested.

    If you just want i for storage of files rather than Music, If you have a DVD Burner use a dvd/RW and you can save up to 4.gb on each DVD disk. I usually manage to squeeze in all of "My Documents" and a few other important software files.

    You can actually burn 800 megs onto a 700 meg CD by using a burning technique called XA. However i wouldnt recommend it for anything other than video or audio, as it leaves the disc with no error correction at all, one scratch and you're fscked. Theres some stuff about it on www.doom9.org in their section on backing up DVDs to divx and putting on a CD.
