P.S. I got the dvd trilogy last year so there's no way I'm buying this even if it has a million cool new things.

This one seems to have quite the opposite to the "million cool things" in the one you have:

It's only 3 discs now, instead of 4

This one is a barebones re-release which costs more the the other version?

So why is it more expensive then the original trilogy dvd release?

    Very Strange.

But the other trilogy is cheaper, or at worst, the same price?

Why would you buy the new barebones one?

    The official line.

"This set is for those who are interested in adding the movies to their DVD library, but are not looking for value added material like documentaries, trailers, galleries and more."

No, doesn't make sense to me either.

The bare-bones edition is £2 less on play.com.

i'll ask here rather then create a new thread

will there/when will there be a prequel trilogy box set? or has this information been kept "hidden"?

Goodshape thanks for that link, guess it IS a bit cheaper elsewhere, but honestly, save 2 quid  :D

I think the extras disc isn't going to break the bank if they are the savings you face!

That said though, I've seen stores selling the new bare bones release for more then the original release!

All in all, seems wildly pointless. Although, I REALLY like the box...!

No idea about the prequel box set. Can't wait until they release some kind of monster set akin to the Alien Quadrilogy....:D

what I would really like to see is a box set with the original films as an option, what I mean is the films where George Lucas didn't be a bollíx and start fcuking around with stuff!, the origianls were much better IMO

I was of the opinion that that's exactly what this re-release was...the unadulterated versions. I thought LA finally bowed to fan pressure and put these out on the market....now you're telling me it's like last year's release only without the documentary sh*t that no-one really watches anyways? Lame...
