    Hi all...

    1st post in DIY thread.

got a question about our apartment fuse box. moved into this apartment in august. we have 2 storage heaters & 1 convection/storage heater (dimplex) and we're have the night saver option (or words to that effect) for our electricity. our fuse box is attached (

when we moved in, the apartment was not that cold, but now it's getting colder. we started to use the heaters above from the dimplex website. all storage heaters were not working. then we tried to adjust the knob on the right (night) to +4 and the heaters worked!

i've tried to search for the fuse box on the net but couldn't find a 'manual' for it. so if anybody can tell me what the knobs are for then plz help.

    fuse box 1

    fuse box 2

button b is inoperative for 'night saver' leave it set at midrange. you can adjust button 'a ' during the daytime and then see how your storage heating performs the next day if it's too hot turn it down a bit or vice versa .after that you shouldn't in theory need to adjust it regardless of the weather outside.

no sorry for the confusion i checked the manual for a slightly diff model .in any event leave the 'day' button set at midrange(it's not used ) and adjust the night button 'before' the night charging period and then see how your house is the next day(when the heat is being dissipated from the storage heaters)
adjust either way then if needed.
your devireg is controlling the electric input to your heaters at night which is why you adjust the 'night' button.

There's a pdf on this over at the ESB site.

We're having problems with ours at the moment as they will only come on when we set the Nightsaver knob to 'constant' - a test setting apparently. Even then, despite resetting our meter, our heating comes on at 7pm, well before the Nightsaver savings kick in.

Does anyone know who is reponsible for maintaining this device in the fuse box: the ESB or the property owner?
