I know there's no rebuy's or top-up's but do they really only pay the winner?

No need for so much detail but they usually pay a good few places

    PPPass,
A freezeOut will generally have a 'normal' payout structure, roughly 8-15% of the field getting paid on a sliding scale.
Methinks you are thinking of a SHOOTOUT tourny, where only the winner get the prize (often qualification to another level of the competition. e.g the heats of Poker Million on SkySports are run as ShootOuts).

If you want a proper answer please post a more detailed question. All freezeout tournaments I've ever heard of usually pay around 10% of the field.

    Locked. Any Qs pm me.
