    Sorry about this, i know nothing about cameras / photography at all but my boyfriend is big into it... He has been talking about getting a digital camera so I'm hoping to get him one for X-mas...
    He has a Nikon (I think) at the moment, it looks like a real professional camera so I'd be looking for something similar but digital...he has been talking about pixels, and zoom and all that but it means nothing to me so I's really appreciate of any of you in the know would recommend something for me.

    what's your budget? If I was you I would ask your boyfriend what he wants - or maybe get a freind to do some undercover for you.


    I'd go for the Nikon D2x or Canon EOS-1D Mark II, very nice expensive cameras.

    Hmmm...By professional...would you mean SLR or Professional?

    Might sound stupid, but I know alot of people who just think an SLR is a pro camera...

    Might save you a few grand in the long run ;)

    Thanks for that, it's probably best if I just ask him, because I'll more than likely mess up if I go out and buy one without knowing a thing about cameras...
