so many variants

    ok been surfing komplett going through the graphic cards as i want to buy a high end pci express card for a new system i'm builing
    but problem is there seems to so many variants of each type with hugh price sways - for example is the most exspensive one the best?
    i want it for gaming(obviously) and digital media (sound recording, divx rendering etc.) I am willing to spend up 500euro on one but am lost in choosing which one seems best
    which factors are most important
    core speed
    ramdac speed - waht is this anyway - always seems to be set 400mh
    memory speed - how important is this
    sometimes specs on komplett dont show all speeds
    and what this 6n business mean
    help very much appreciated
