Just wondering- if you saw Bob Dylan at the point over the weekend, what did you think of the concert?
To be honest I didn't think it was great (Sunday night). Last 3 or 4 songs were excellent though. Especially enjoyed highway 61.

I went Sunday night. I wouldn't be a big fan on Dylan but I still enjoyed it. It was a lot better than I thought it would be.....I heard a lot of bad comments about Dylan live. I didn't know many of the songs but was still impressed!

I went to see him last time he was here. He was total rubbish, we retired to the bar after the third song. i wouldnt waste my money on him again. I think he was drunk or smashed on something.

    Wow! how cool! .....

    NOT!

Piss poor tbh. He finished every song the same f*cking way which really annoyed me. Highway 61 was good, as was All Along the Watchtower but that was all. The band were horrible as well.

He had a strange style of singing- unless you knew the words of the songs (which were hard to make out at the best of times), you would barely recognise what song he was singing. I love "visions of johanna" but he sang it nothing like the original. It was barely recognisable for most of it. As for "dont think twice its alright".......

I loved it on Sunday night. Didnt know a lot of the songs, but that was fine. The band was tight. It did get to me a little that every song had that big send off at the end but thats a minor quibble. I would have really liked to hear Forever Young which he closed with on Saturday night.

Not as good as the Kilkenny gig in terms of the songs he played, but the band were better and there was a real element of class. Brilliant gig.

Have to agree about the band. Thought they were good. Would have liked to have seen Bob get up in front with his guitar. He played the harp on Saturday night!

I went Saturday, helluva lot better than that last Point gig.

Mate. The Teletubbies would have been better than the last Point gig.

Was there on Saturday. Absolutely cracking.

At the start i was feeling very pessimistic as I'd heard rumouirs that his voice had deteriorated more than ever. Maggies Farm was a good intro. Voice wasn't amazing but it was an ok if somewhat predictable introduction.

Followed it up with a very average Tell me that it isn't true and watching the river flow. Worst song of the night followed when he played 1 of the worst versions of lay lady lay of his career. His vocal range was non-existent.

After that though, things jut got better and better. Most likely you go your wya i'll go mine, highway 61 revisited, stuck inside of mobile with the memphis blues again were all fresh and full on rocked up versions of the originals that he nailed perfectly. In between a we had a funked up cold irons bound and floater, as well as a beautiful acoustic reworking of shelter from the storm. he also played the lonesome death of hattie carroll acoustically and hit every note. He got a rapturous applause after the best version of summer days i've ever heard him play and follwoed up with a cracking encore of like a rolling stone and all along the watchtower. After another sumptuous round of applause he left the stage and then did the unbelievable(as only Dylan can do) by coming out and treating the crowd to a second encore with a cracking version of Forever Young.

All in all, one of Bob's best perfromances for a long time and far superior to his last effort in the Point. Anyone that says the band were terrible has absolutely no musical knowledge. The band were absolutely bang on in every song.

Does anyone have a list of what he played Sunday night?
I thought it was incredible, my first time seeing him though.
The band were brilliant and his harp was amazing.
    Couldn't understand a word though

Fact: Bob Dylan is the legend!
Saturaday night gig was by far the best I've even seen him. He did put his heart into the songs, shame he didn't really speak to the crowd at all though. And he done two encores! His voice has been going for years, so the crowd knew what to expect before they bought their tickets, but still people diss him. I know some people that got in for free and they still sh**ing on! When you can paint a picture with a song the way Bob can though, then ye can moan all ya like!

dylan is a legend. i've seen him a couple of times now and he can be hit or miss but he has hit more times than he's missed and the gig in the point on the 26th was a major hit.
it was just brilliant. mezmorizing, the whole nine yards...etc.. i dont know about the gig on the sunday night as i wasn't there but saturday was a class apart.. much better than his last gig in the point about two years ago, although that had some memorable moments

I went Sunday and was a bit disappointed. I was right up the front, pretty much in the third row. He didn't look arsed to be honest. Looked like he was going through the motions.
