Audio Problem

    While listening to music, especially quiet songs / intros, I hear static. This problem only seems to occur in iTunes.

    At first I thought it was my headphones or a HDD problem, but I listened to an MP3 this morning in Firefox and then in iTunes and the quality difference was noticeable. I then listened to same MP3 in WMP, no issues there either.

    I tried Edit > Preferences > Playback and putting the Audio Enhancer up to high, but no difference.

    Anyone know a solution? If I reinstall iTunes, will the music I've purchased from the music store be affected in any way?

    What version of iTunes?
    Did you rip the songs through iTunes or something else? (If so, what format were they originally?)

    It's 6.0.1.3 (latest version).

    Songs vary from being ripped through iTunes from CD, to songs purchased from the music store, to random tracks downloaded from websites. All present with the same problem however.

    The problem has only appeared recently (withing the last 2 weeks I'd say).
