    Hey,

Just wondering has anyone claimed their taxback in Australia without going through a company, ie did it all themselves. Heard it can be done online and you need all the pay summaries from your jobs. Just dont really wanna give a comapny any money when I can do it myself.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks:)

I did it through an accountant in Sydney who only charged 50 dollars or something equally as small. You can do it yourself online, check out http://www.ato.gov.au/ but i think its quite difficult.

Yep - I did it in Brisbane. Its pretty easy too. You go into the tax office and do it on a computer. Whatever you do make sure you say you are an Australian tax resident or you'll end up with a tax bill instead of a rebate. The lady in the tax office was so nice that she let me start over again when I said I wasn't a tax resident - she basically told me to lie without saying it directly.
