    Hi There,
Was quoted 1380 pp(Trailfinders) for a flight only to Sydney via Singapore with singapore airlines-probably will go for 3 wks in April-is this a good price??
Is it cheaper to get package deals to Australia rather than booking everything seperately?-will be staying in singapore for a few nights too.
    cheers.

    Hi Twinkletoes....

I am not sure about the price (It takes me 4 hours to convert Euro to Aussie Dollars) but I guess It really depends if you are just planning on staying in Sydney or travelling around (needing more airfares).....

    What have you got planned?

It seems a relatively reasonable price for a flight including a stop over, especially if you are booking now for April.

We will be travelling around...not sure exactly where yet..need to do some research!!.....Melbourne anyway as we've heard alot of good about it...we hope to rent a car but internal flights will definitely need to be considered if we go across to Perth or ayers rock for example... any reccomendations??

Try http://www.virginblue.com.au/ for domestic flights. Flying to Perth from Sydney or anywhere on the east coast is not cheap, from Melbourne will be a bit cheaper. Have a look, as you may want to pay for these flights before you leave. You can try Qantas as well, they sometimes have good deals. We also have Jetstar, but don't think they fly to Perth.

Actually flying anywhere in Aust is pretty pricey. It's actually cheaper for us to fly to NZ, Fiji, Tonga, Indonesia etc than it is to fly domestically depending on the destination. :(

The price is ok but going to Oz for 3 weeks is a waste. You need to go for much longer to see anything. I was there for 6 months and only saw a small bit. The drive from Sydney to Melbourne is 12 hours. You'd be better flying - try using Jet Star or Virgin Blue.

I tend to agree with you there finlma. If you were planning on just seeing Sydney or Melbourne...3 weeks would be ok. But travelling anywhere else takes time and lots of money!! You mentioned Alice Springs? For example, Alice is about 3000km from Sydney.....
Perth is about 4000km. That's a fair distance, even in a plane. If you can't extend the holiday time wise I would recommend picking two major cities (eg syd and melb) and spending equal time there, flying if you can, cos yes it is about 1000km travel....... That said, if you had time, going by road is the best way to see this crazy country!!!

Do you know anyone over here?
