I want to get my girlfriend a camera for a business trip to India and Hong Kong which she is going on. But, you can probably get way nicer cameras over there and for far cheaper aswell. But I doubt she would go and buy herself one over there anyway. So...should I splash out on one here, knowing that the money could go a lot further over there?!

When is she going? I got my digital camera on line for about €150 incl p&p for a camera that would cost about €250 in Ireland. It was well worth it.

I've ordered a camera in the past from Pixmania and got it the following day

But it seems a lot of people aren't so lucky with them though...

I did save €150 on the high street price though.

Just a thought; couldn't you buy the camera on-line from a Hong-Kong based site and have it delivered to her at her hotel. Presumably if she's going on a business trip the hotel will be organised well in advance.

Not a bad idea. Will have a look into this, thanks! ;)
