hi, mate of mine is flying into waterford airport.

he needs to make his way to gorey.

i went to buseireann.ie, and checked their journey planner. there's a load of differnet stops in waterford, but the airport's not listed.

so, i went to waterford airports site, they just have a link to bus eireann, which of course tells you fcuk all.

    typical.

so, does anyone know the best way to get from waterford airport to gorey?

does he need to get a bus into waterford town?

would the train be better, and if so, is this near the airport.

Taxi into the bus station on the quay and then get the bus up to Gorey. There's a telephone inside the airport to ring a taxi to come out and collect you.

his flight lands at 7.10, and the bus is at 7.30, so that's a no go.

the next bus aint til 7am the next day! WTF!

    is there a train?

Taxi is the only way to be honest, waterford airport is in the middle of nowhere, no busses nearby or trains, and i'd say a taxi would be expensive into the city too. Besides I wouldnt think that he'd make it to that bus in 20 mins from the airport either way to be honest.

The joys of having to organise travel. I have to do it every week but in Luton. Thing is, the flights from Aer Arann are hit and miss anyway.

    Hi,
Unless your mates flight isnt on time he will definitely make it onto the quays in twenty minutes. The is a new ring road accessing the airport just open and makes travelling into the city centre v quick, there also wont be any traffic at that time.
I would have a taxi waiting for him outside the airport though, there is a rank there but if he has one booked he is sure to get one quicky. ( 051 877710 taxi co.)

it's cuting it far too close i'd say, the odds a flights gonna be on time too.

i reckon his best bet is to rent a car, and we'll all chip in.

crazy that there's no decent public transport.
