You can get cheaper HDTV's than that which can output 720p and 1020i via the composite sockets from Komplett at around 700 notes.

I will never buy anything Dell related again.
Especially since I tried to upgrade my old Dell PC.

25ms will this be ok for console gaming and dvds? i might get this soley for the 360 and playing movies
my PC monitor is 12ms... but ive heard so many different stories about how response time means nothing and once its < 25ish its fine to its the only thing that counts

ehh sorry the Currys one is 32" wont get much cheaper than that :o

Aldi rumoured to have their one out in 2 weeks was €999 last time so should be cheaper as was €1200 and €1400 the previous times it came out.

Thanks for the replies, i did see that dell screen and at €550 it seems impossible to beat but im unsure about the 25ms response time, is that fast enough. Does anyone have this monitor and if so have they used it for gaming( is there any ghosting etc). Thanks

In short Dave, yes, you would notice discernible ghosting on a screen with a 25ms response time, a screen with 16ms less so and one with 8ms would not be noticeable at all. For a 8ms response time LCD-TV (HD Ready) you're looking at paying at least €750, for example the LG 23" from Komplett.ie.

Thats not all that true mate
    http://graphics.tomshardware.com/display/20040226/
    Have a read of that
Some lcds are now quoting an 8ms response time but they are only quoting
the white to gray response time while other manufacturers are quoting 16ms
which is the time from white to gray and back to white.

25ms isnt all that fast, but i have that dell lcd screen and i dont notice any
blurring at all to be honest. Its a great bit of kit and i didnt fancy paying
twice as much for a similiar tv just to have a better response time.

there is no set industry standard on response time, its up each company to decide wat they say as right...
i have played on 8ms 12ms and 16ms and found they are all the same, im still abit worried about this 25ms but for that price! who cares!

    Thats the problem
dell quoting 25ms may in fact be faster than another company quoting 16 or
even 12 because they all seem to use different standards
its a great bit of kit imho and would have no problem recommending it again
    and again to people
