USB device static

ok, I put my new razor copperhead mouse in, and all I feel is static. It works fine and everything. But when I'm using it it feels like i'm connected to the USB port and not the mouse. WTF is wrong with it?

I'm on a gericom laptop, two USB ports.

It's happened on other things too. Like game controllers etc. The only thing it doesn't seem to happen with is my 5 euro POS Packard Bell mouse.

It's ****ing annoying because I haven't got a clue what could be wrong with it. And I know it can't be all the devices fault.

    Anyone else ever have this?

Er, no - I've never had that.

I'd say that you should get in touch with Gericom ASAP.
How old is the unit? How long have you had the issue? Does it happen when you use all/any USB ports?
