Ultra, Ultra portable laptop

Okay, looking for a VERY small, light laptop.

The IBM X series is even too big. The only one ones I can think of are made by Sony but it's for a person who travels a lot and I wouldnt touch one with a bare pole!

Any suggestions for such a notebook, the samsung X series (and Dell's equv) is also out. Too big!

nope, he had one and then got pissed off when it lost its memory when the Battery died. He backup eticate is somewhat lacking, so hes looking at a small laptop.

Ah Nail>Head, I couldnt think of the make that I had seen before, JVC is it alright.

Any models with an 8-9" screen you would reccomend Capt'n? A touchscreen might be a good option for this

You could setup a timed backup to an SD card. Laptop could be worse, because the user probably won't handle it with kid gloves and HDD's are less reliable than sd

Can't really recomend any tabletpc since they cost more than laptops,
Gateway used to make nice subnotebooks

This is a cool one the only problem is the keyboard can be a bit tight but its grand apart from that ..plus unlike the new sony it has a external dvd-r ..but it not that bad ..the centrino ULV does help alot with battery life ..ive install centenio hardware controller software which helps
