i'm after getting a second hand dell inspiron 2650 laptop off a friend but the problem is that the language setup on it is german. tried to change it to english but having no luck. any help tp do it right would be grately apprieciated

Is windows in German or is it just the keyboard, ie. when you ytpe it shows german characters?

windows xp it seems is in german and not the laptop

Unless the laptop came with multiple language recovery disks you would need to buy a new copy of windows. Microsoft don't license you to use other languages even though you have a valid XP license :mad:

It would be nice if you could trick SP2 or IE into using the english langague as that would change a lot of files (it used to work on older versions of windows)
