I play far better poker while listening to Van Morrison (particularily Moondance) than I do while listening to The Smiths.

I always want to listen to The Smiths while playing poker though. What's up with that? Fatalism?

probably because of Morrissey's depressing lyrics. I don't want to break down crying at the poker table during that joke isnt funny anymore.

Mozart does the f**kin business for me

I've always been interested in the effect that different types of music has on your poker play. I too find that classical helps enormously to avoid tilting, though it depends on exactly what you're listening to of course. When you need to get into the zone though and play confidently I recommend pumping up "Clubbed to Death" by Rob Dougan, "You've got the Love" by The Source featuring Candi Staton (Now Voyager remix), "Unfinished Sympathy" by Massive Attack, that kind of music.

A mix of Chemical Brothers, Stones and some other random stuff in the playlist does it for me.
