Yes thats right I just entered the LAte Late show competition to win 10k, but they charged me €1 for sending the text message, I would'nt mind but no-where on this page does it mention any cost.
    http://www.rte.ie/tv/latelate/
that's poor form for RTE I think.

They played you for a chump my friend. You're not going to take it are you? Write them a furiously angry letter.

Despite what they say the number is owned by Mobile 365. Ring Regtel on 1850 741 741 and make sure your number is off their database. Chances are they're going to shaft you for more money.

    Use this...

...to find out the source of people texting you.

When I read the title I was going to move this to Consumer Issues.

From reading this thread, I thought it should probably be sent to Humour.

[strike]But for educational value, I'm just going to sticky it for a while.[/strike] :)

that's poor form for RTE I think.

I'm pretty sure that RTE have a policy of refunding the text message charge to everybody who didn't win the €10k.

When I see five weirdos dressed in togas, stabbing a man in the middle of the park in front of a full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards, that's my policy.

RTE need the money, seeing as most people I know can live with the SHAME of not paying a TV license.
