Anybody get to see this on SkySports1?... wasnt the best game of poker to watch due to the fact there was a break every 5min for advertising.. my tip phil ivy took it down after some very patient play and great blind stealing 4 handed. id write a report but im a lazy bastard :)

The ads did make it a poor game to watch, but also the fact they were rising the blinds so fast also to stick to the 3am finish, made it a crazy all in fest at the end. There was no room for clever play with the exception of Ivey alright, Devil fish may have done better if the blinds didnt go up so fast. He was in command for the majority of the game. Ivey must be delighted 1.6 milllion in 2 days!! And it was nice to see Andy Black on the studio panel.

Saying it wasn't great is an amazing understatement. The structure was a total joke. The American tv execs had to get it over because it was on prime time tv in the US. The last hour was a case of k10 being a monster, Gus Hanson looked so cheesed off he called an all-in with q8 off. They had a little go at him back in the studio saying he could of afforded to wait a few hands. I reckon he just went to go find a better game. It was a big waste of a chance to highlight the skills and talents of some of the best players in the world.

Hero of the night was without doubt DevilFish Ulliot. He was chip leader for most of the night until the end where the joke blinds forced him to call in the BB blind with k9. No help for him but at least he took $150,000. This is when the good stuff happened. They were all wearing tuxedo's however Devil removed his jacket on exit turning his back to the camera's revealing a cardboard sign advertising his website duck tapped to his back. Not only that but they left his mike on and the pre watershed American audence were showered with a volley of explectives. Legend.

yea devil fish played a good game first 3/4 of it when it he was CL by easily 80k, he got to play around with muck hands with limp raising and got away with it, however he tried this to much when the blinds went up and got found out with approx 5/6 hands on re raises which he folded each time, it took a nice chunk from his stack which kinda fuked up his whole game, and u could see it in him that he knew he was fcuking around with the wrong players, all in all i think 1st,2nd and 3rd was a fair place for each of the players... $1,6 million in two days what a way to make a living!.

just watched it there tonight. Has to have been one of the worst tv poker games i have seen. I mean who picks the blind levels to mean that the only move for the players is an all in one?
Crazy stuff. Fair enough players had to decide when to put there chips in but there was a lot more luck on show then there was skill.
Phil Ivey said it himself about beating john to take it down.

yeah it was a total joke, why bother assembling a line up like that and then turn it into a crapshoot, some funny moments though, like when devilfish said hed show his friend phil a card and then showed the 3. Matusows laugh was priceless!

I really enjoyed it. Have to say it was good to see them all on the same table again, Tv poker has been really bad lately. Im sick of online and celeb poker. Bring back the pros quick.
Anyone know where you can get WPT dvds??

id have to disagree wit a lot of what was said.
yes the blind structure was rising too fast but other than that i thought it was great.

heres why: on norm poker shows they only show you the important hands
so u never get to see the pros gettin **** hands ten handed and what they do wit them.
normally they only show shorthanded tables wit 6 ppl or less.

as for the devilfish do not think he played well
he got an early chip lead which is easy to play and got caught out wit a lot of his raises as soon as it got serious, i do not believe he was up to the standard of the other players

Saw this last week with Dutch commentary...!

As has been said, the blinds structure was a joke and it was getting a bit tired watching the players go all in with marginal hands. Mike Matusow was clearly waiting for a genuine hand that never came and got blinded out of the game and was forced to go all in with muck cards.

    Poor tournament IMO.
