Import Duty on Piano

Just realised last night that Ishibashi sell digital pianos. I'm set to order mine next week. Was looking at piedog and thomann at the Yamaha CLP-240

Yamaha are made in japan though so I'm presuming it would be cheaper to get it from somewhere like Ishibashi even with import taxes etc

So its 3.7% for electrics plus 21% vat. Anyone know what the import duty is for a digital piano? Gonna use johnnys import calculator spreadsheet but not sure of the import duty

    Cheers

It comes flat packed afaik. So its as thick as the keyboard I'd say and think it weighs in the region of 25kg. Waiting on a reply from ishi.

Ahh just found it. It's 3.2%

Not bad. I'll just wait and see how much shipping is now

I'm in the market for one myself. Did you ever find out how much shipping was?

Yeah it was more than the usual 100 anyway. I got it from thomann in the end. But cheapest was Piedog.com

I'd recommend trying piedog. Only reason I went with thomann was because I needed it in time for xmas and piedog was out of stock. Just set it up today but not allowed play it til xmas. It looks fantastic. Will throw up a picture later
